Puffin is a male black and white bird tritagonist of The Swan Princess. He is Odette's, Derek's, Speed's, Alise's and Jean-Bob's friend.

He is among the craftiest and the most devoted of all characters. Strict in military arts, Puffin hates spies, while still being a fun-loving and caring character. He won't stand for anyone's (especially Jean-Bob's) lack of enthusiasm, and does not want to feel helpless when helping Odette in trouble, but is ever ready to give encouragement where it is needed most.

Puffin came all the way from Ireland.

Movie Appearances[]

The Swan Princess[]

Puffin crashes near Odette, Speed, and Jean-Bob after being shot in the left wing by an arrow and was treated by Odette afterwards. He befriends the three of them and makes a plan to help Odette find Derek. During the search, he and Odette were hunted down when Derek mistakes Odette, in her swan form, as the "great animal". Puffin plays dead by putting the red berries on his chest to pretend he was shot and he bites Derek's foot when Derek comes to take a look at him. As Derek hops in pain after being bitten by Puffin, he and Odette make a run for it and they fly back to Swan Lake. When Odette is imprisoned in the castle's dungeon, he makes a plan to break Odette out from there so that she can meet Derek at the ball. During the fight between Derek and the "great animal", he remembers the bow that Rothbart threw in the pond and throws Jean-Bob into the pond to get it. In the end, he was seen talking to a group of migrating swans about the story of him helping Odette to reunite with Derek.

The Swan Princess: Escape from Castle Mountain[]

Odette and Derek have been married for over a year and they are living in Rothbart's Castle at Swan Lake along with Puffin, Jean-Bob, and Speed but soon new enemies are entering the kingdom. Knuckles burns down the plantations to trap Derek. Odette helps her people by giving blankets. But Puffin is hit by Knuckles as he hit him against a tree making him unable to fly for a couple of weeks. But the troubles have already begun. Clavius wanted the Forbidden Arts that once belonged to Rothbart but Rothbart betrayed him. He wants the Forbidden Arts now that Rothbart has been defeated, but he will need to get into the castle to get them, but Derek was in the castle and he could not get the Forbidden Arts as long as he was in there so he kidnapped Queen Uberta and set forest fires to lure Derek away from the castle so he could get the Forbidden Arts for himself. In the forest, Odette turns back into a swan again to save her husband while Puffin and his friends try to keep the orb away from Clavius because if he gets it, Odette would be a swan forever. But Clavius takes the orb. Odette is able to save Derek just in time from the quicksand and both of them head back to the castle but they are too late. Clavius who has kidnapped Queen Uberta shows her the power of creation. But everyone is able to free Uberta but Jean-Bob sacrifices his life to save Derek. At the end of the movie, the orb crashes into 1,000 pieces. Back at Swan Lake, everyone is waiting for the moon rise so Odette will change back into her human form. The moon rises and Odette turns back into a human and Jean-Bob comes back to life which makes Puffin and Speed very happy.

With a red seeker, she chases Odette. Puffin and Odette try to fly away but the fireball catches Odette and it kills her. But when Derek breaks the wand in 2, Zelda is gone forever, but Puffin comes alone without Odette and he tells Derek very sadly that Odette was killed by the fireball because she couldn't get away in time.
